N.Y. Crews Called to House Fire

Nov. 26, 2012

Six companies responded to a house fire in Rochester on Nov. 24.

Initial calls for the fire, on Avenue E, reported people trapped and Engine 2 found smoke showing from the 1 1/2-story home.

Engine 2 stretched an attack line with Engine 16 having the backup line.

Truck 6 conducted searches and found that the home was unoccupied. Truck 2 positioned the aerial to the roof and performed vertical ventilation.

Battalion 1 had command of the fire, which was contained in 30 minutes.

Engine 10 was the rapid intervention company and Engine 5 was special called to the scene.
