The cause of a fire that ripped through a Kimberling City home on July 4 was pinpointed to a dishwasher.

Southern Stone County firefighters were called to Deer Park Circle around 9 a.m. 

Firefighters found flames shooting from the roof of the home and used a defensive attack to knock the fire down.

Tankers were used to bring water from nearby Table Rock Lake to the scene.

One firefighter suffered heat exhaustion and was treated at the scene.

Investigators said the fire began where the dishwasher was located.
