    Photo Story: Blaze Damages Two N.Y. Homes

    Rochester firefighters found two homes burning when they arrived around 3:30 a.m. on Oct. 13.

    Fire quickly spread to two homes in the early morning hours of Oct. 13, forcing several residents to flee. 

    The fire happened around 3:30 a.m. on Farbridge Street .

    Two alarms were called soon after firefighters arrived. 

    One home suffered extensive damage and crews used hoselines from inside the adjacent home to control the fire.

    Fast-spreading fire tactics may dictate writing off the structures originally involved and focusing all resources on preventing the fire from spreading. Care must be taken to prevent lines and firefighters from being positioned in places where they could be endangered by collapsing buildings or other factors.
