Firefighters rescued a man from a stubborn house fire on Jan. 22 in Eagan.

Fire Chief Mike Scott found heavy smoke coming from the two-story home and a neighbor told him that the home was likely occupied.

The crew from Ladder 2 entered the home and found the man and brought him out to safety.

With temperatures below 0 and old construction, a defensive attack was used.

A crew from the Mendota Heights Fire Department responded to the two-alarm fire.
