Eight fire units responded as two homes burned in Detroit on March 21.

Engines 48 and 33, Ladder 22, Squad 4 and Battalion 7 were called to South Edsel and South Schafer Streets.

When they left their station three blocks away, Engine 48 reported an orange glow. They arrived and found a dwelling going throughout.

When Chief 7 arrived he reported two homes were on fire and requested two additional engines. One engine was assigned to brand patrol.

Several hoselines were used in tandem with a deck gun and aerial pipe to bring the fire under control.
