Firefighters quickly struck four alarms as flames spread to a second home early Wednesday morning in Waltham.
Two engines, one ladder and the heavy rescue were dispatched for a building fire.
They encountered a fully-involved multiple dwelling with gusty winds spreading the flames to a second structure. A second alarm was struck, bringing three engines and a ladder.
As firefighters set up for a defensive attack, the third and fourth alarms were struck.
Several vehicles, including a police car, were damaged by the radiant heat.
