Residents Evacuated after Chemical Tanker Car Derails in Bucyrus, OH
A tanker carrying hydrochloric acid was among the 19 Norfolk Southern rail cars that derailed in Bucyrus Sunday night.
Firefighters evacuated residents after five of the cars overturned, abc6 reported.
The one-mile evacuation zone implemented at 8:40 p.m. was modified to a quarter-of-a mile area about 11:30. Residents were given the choice of city hall or the high school if they didn't have another place to stay.
Authorities, who remained on the scene Monday, have not said if a leak had been detected.
