VENTURA, Calif. -- A driver had to be rescued when his car rolled off Pacific Coast Highway and into the ocean after a short pursuit.
The driver, who has been identified only as Latino man, led California Highway Patrol officers on a three-minute chase that ended on PCH just north of Yerba Buena Road.
The man's car -- which may have been stolen, according tot he CHP -- went tumbling off of the road and into the ocean.
CHP officers detained three men at the scene of the crash, but made a swimmer in distress call to the U.S. Coast Guard, who responded to the scene.
Firefighters were seen loading a man on a gurney into an ambulance. C
HP officials say the man was the driver of the car and he suffered major injuries in the crash but he is expected to survive.
The other three men detained were not injured.
