Miami Firefighters Use Crane to Rescue Worker
MIAMI --
Rescuers used a crane Tuesday afternoon to lower an injured construction worker from the eighth floor of a building under construction in Miami.
The man was injured at a building site at 37th Street and Northwest 22nd Avenue.
Officials said the worker, who has not been identified, fell eight to 10 feet from the top of the building, breaking his leg and suffering a serious bruise to an eye.
Miami Fire Rescue personnel put the man onto a backboard and rigged a crane to lower him to the ground.
Once on the ground, the man was transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital's Ryder Trauma Center.
