CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. --

A tactical rescue team pulled a man to safety after he fell inside a tank at a water plant Thursday morning.

The incident happened just after 10 a.m. at the Coral Springs Water & Waste Plant at 10300 NW 11th Manor.

Coral Springs Fire Rescue said the man was conducting an inspection of the 30-foot-tall tank, which is used to hold wastewater and treated wastewater. He was on a ladder inside the tank when he fell about 15 feet to the bottom.

"We think he was just inspecting the inside of the tank for whatever type of inspections he was conducting at that point," said Mike Moser, of Coral Springs Fire Rescue. "It appears he just slipped and fell."

Rescue crews had to rappel down into the tank, put the man on a backboard and use a ladder on a fire truck to hoist him out. Broward Sheriff's Fire Rescue Tactical Rescue Team helped Coral Springs firefighters to get the man out of the tank.

The man was taken to a hospital with minor injuries.
