Colo. FFs Rescue 20 From Zoo Ride

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- Twenty people were stuck, hanging out in the sky after a computer glitch caused the Mountaineer Sky Ride at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo to stop Wednesday afternoon. The malfunction occurred just after 3:30 p.m. Firefighters called to the scene pulled up in ladder trucks and helped riders climb down the ladders from their chairlifts. By 5:30 p.m., firefighters had rescued all the riders. No one was hurt. The Cheyenne Mountain Zoo is looking into what caused the malfunction.

The Cheyenne Mountain Zoo is looking into what caused the malfunction.

The open-air ride goes around the zoo, and provides views of Cheyenne Mountain, Colorado Springs and the plains to the east.
