Wis. FFs Assist with Tractor Accident
FENNIMORE, Wis. --
Grant County officials said Fennimore firefighters and EMS and a local towing company had to work together to keep a tractor from crushing a local farmer Tuesday.
The 48-year-old man is recovering at the University of Wisconsin Hospital in Madison after the tractor he was operating overturned on Highway 61 between Lancaster and Fennimore, Grant County authorities said.
The accident happened just after 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Grant County authorities said Stephen Scanlan was driving south near Pine Grove Road in Liberty Township, pulling a loaded chopper box with an International tractor.
Deputies said that's when the wagon become unhitched and forced the tractor and wagon to overturn.
Scanlan was pinned under the tractor until authorities arrived.
