Florida Firefighters Help Rid Bees From Jet

    DANIA BEACH, Fla. -- A Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue crew was called to get rid of a swarm of bees that were nesting on a jet at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport on Wednesday. Mike Jachles, of Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue, said a worker at Shelt Air saw a swarm of bees on a Falcon jet and called for help. Officials said the bees, which were estimated in the thousands, were nesting on the left wing of the jet. A Fire Rescue crew arrived to spray the bees with foam.

    A Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue crew was called to get rid of a swarm of bees that were nesting on a jet at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport on Wednesday.

    Mike Jachles, of Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue, said a worker at Shelt Air saw a swarm of bees on a Falcon jet and called for help.

    Officials said the bees, which were estimated in the thousands, were nesting on the left wing of the jet.

    A Fire Rescue crew arrived to spray the bees with foam.

    Broward fire officials said Wednesday was the second time in the past few months when they were called to get rid of bees at the airport.
