Fire Victims Hang Out Windows in Mo.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Two people were found hanging outside of a window waiting for rescue at an apartment fire Tuesday night. The two-alarm fire started around 11:30 p.m. at a building at St. John Avenue and Belmont Boulevard. The fire started on the third floor of the building, which contains apartments. A bar, called the Bigger Jigger, is on the first floor of the building. Fire crews and police are calling the fire "suspicious."

Two people were found hanging outside of a window waiting for rescue at an apartment fire Tuesday night.

The two-alarm fire started around 11:30 p.m. at a building at St. John Avenue and Belmont Boulevard. The fire started on the third floor of the building, which contains apartments. A bar, called the Bigger Jigger, is on the first floor of the building.

Fire crews and police are calling the fire "suspicious."

The two people hanging out of the windows were rescued by firefighters on truck ladders. A third person was rescued and carried down the stairs of the building.

One victim was taken to an area hospital in stable condition. Fire crews said most of the damage to the building is contained to the third level.
