Banana Truck Overturns On I-95 in Fla.

ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. -- A tractor-trailer hauling bananas blew a tire and overturned on Interstate 95 near International Golf Parkway early Thursday. The Florida Highway Patrol said the crash happened at about 2:30 a.m. about three miles north of International Golf Parkway in the northbound lanes. The truck was en route from Miami and rolled over onto its side. FHP said St. Johns Fire and Rescue had to get a ladder to get the driver out of the cab. He was not injured.

ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. --

A tractor-trailer hauling bananas blew a tire and overturned on Interstate 95 near International Golf Parkway early Thursday.

The Florida Highway Patrol said the crash happened at about 2:30 a.m. about three miles north of International Golf Parkway in the northbound lanes.

The truck was en route from Miami and rolled over onto its side. FHP said St. Johns Fire and Rescue had to get a ladder to get the driver out of the cab. He was not injured.

At 5 a.m. The truck was not blocking the highway; it was off to the side of the road. FHP said the truck would be moved upright at around 6 a.m. FHP said the bananas may need to be offloaded before the truck is moved.
