KANSAS CITY, Mo. --
Firefighters rescued a woman from a four-story apartment building in Midtown Kansas City Tuesday night.
Dozens of residents were evacuated when fire broke out at 619 E. Armour Blvd.
Firefighters said they had fire and heavy smoke showing from a fourth-floor apartment and a woman was waving for help when they arrived.
Crews were able to enter the building and bring her and another woman out safely. They were taken to a hospital and treated for smoke inhalation. They are expected to recover.
The damage is mostly contained to one apartment unit, but there is water damage to nearby units.
Residents were allowed to go back inside
The Red Cross is helping the displaced residents.
