Pittsburgh Firefighters Rescue Several From Burning Building

An infant was rescued through a window

Pittsburgh firefighters rescued several people from a burning building Wednesday morning.

The fire broke out just after 9 a.m. at Penn Plaza in East Liberty.

A baby was rescued through an open window.

The infant's mom handed the child to a firefighter on a ladder below.

A few elderly people are being treated for smoke inhalation.

Officials said the fire started on the third floor of the building.

The baby's condition is not known.

The cause of the blaze is under investigation.

Two fire companies assisted in extinguishing the fire.
