Jan. 01--The Waterford Regional Fire Department rescued two men who fell through the ice on New Year's Day.
According to the department, firefighters arrived at Scott Lake around 11 a.m. to find two adult men through the ice. One was 150 feet from shore and the other was about 100 feet from shore.
The second man saw the first man fall through the ice and attempted to rescue him. That's when he fell through the ice as well.
Firefighters used ice rescue suits and ropes to reach the victims. The firefighters also used two boats found on shore to help them.
One of the men was transported to the hospital. His condition is unknown. The second victim was treated and released on the scene.
One firefighter hurt his hand while trying to rescue the men. His exact injury is unknown.
