Rescue of Fallen Okla. Worker Called 'Textbook'

Tulsa firefighters spent 30 minutes rescuing the man from an underground utility vault.

Firefighters rescued a worker who fell from a ladder inside a Tulsa utility vault Tuesday.

Crews were summoned to the Public Service Company of Oklahoma Carson substation just before 10 a.m. The found that the worker fell 10 to 12 feet from the ladder.

"It was a textbook, once we got him packaged up, hoisted up and out and over to stretcher," Tulsa Fire Captain Stan May told Newson6.com.

The man was talking to rescuers as they pulled him from the underground vault. The rescue took 30 minutes.

He was taken to the hospital for evaluation.
