Two Floors Collapse at Watergate Parking Garage in D.C.

Officials say there was a pancake collapsed of two levels of the Watergate parking garage.

WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- Two floors of the garage at the Watergate Hotel in Northwest, D.C. collapsed Friday morning, according to DC Fire and EMS. One person was injured.

Crews responded to the report of a "pancake collapse" in the 2600 block of Virginia Ave in Northwest, D.C.

WUSA9's Ellison Barber reported the person injured is a woman.

D.C. Fire said all the construction workers at the Watergate are accounted for after the parking deck collapse. No one has been reported missing, but fire officials say crews are searching to make sure no one is trapped.

The 2600 and 2700 blocks of Virginia Avenue are closed at this time.
