Philly Rescuers Pull Man From Sewer

Residents cheered when crews brought the man out.

As Philadelphia firefighters pulled a man out of the sewer Friday night, residents cheered.

The 46-year-old man removed a storm drain that covered an 18-inch pipe and jumped in,  Suction from rushing water below pulled him down about 10 feet, officials told NBC10.

Technical rescue personnel set up operations in the street.

The man's condition was not known.
