Raw video and photos show Margate-Coconut Creek, Miami-Dade and Broward Sheriff's Office firefighters rescuing an injured helicopter pilot who crashed in a remote area of a Coconut Creek park.

Crews from several Florida fire companies rescued a helicopter pilot who crashed in a heavily wooded and swampy area Thursday.

The helicopter had been transporting pipes and equipment at Tradewinds Park in Coconut Creek when it began experiencing a mechanical issue, according to Margate-Coconut Creek Fire Rescue. The aircraft went down in a remote section of the park.

Because of the location of the crash site, firefighters had to reach the helicopter on foot, and they eventually were able to stabilize the injured pilot. Additional help was needed, however, and the Broward Sheriff's Office Fire Department Technical Rescue Team and Miami-Dade Fire Rescue Air Rescue North were called in to hoist the pilot from the crash site and airlift him to the hospital.

A Margate-Coconut Creek firefighter also was injured during the incident. No details were released concerning how the firefighter was injured or the extent of the injuries.

The crash is being investigated by the Federal Aviation Administration.
