CLEVELAND, OH—A 35-year-old man who parachuted in downtown Cleveland crashed into the side of a building and ended up suspended 40 feet in the air, according to police.

The man, who has not been identified, told police he and four friends jumped from a plane about 2 a.m. Sunday, although officers are investigating exactly where the group took off.

The others landed safely, but the 35-year-old man’s parachute drifted until it became entangled on top of a parking garage at the Reserve Square apartment building on East 12th Street and Chester Avenue.

The man was stranded until Cleveland firefighters rescued him, according to police.

The man suffered a broken ankle and was treated at MetroHealth. The four others landed safely in a park across the street.

A witness recorded the impact and posted the video to Instagram.
