Dec. 3—Six people were injured Thursday evening in a crash involving a Metro bus, a dump truck and a passenger vehicle on Maple Valley Highway in Renton, according to the Renton Fire Department.
Units responded to the crash just after 6 p.m. at Maple Valley Highway at 140th Avenue Southeast, according to a Renton Fire tweet.
The highway remains closed from East Interstate 405 and West 149th, according to the Renton Police Department. Officials said the closure would last an "extended amount of time," with traffic delays of two to three hours as officials investigate and crews clean up debris, according to the Renton Police Department.
All six of those injured were taken to the hospital, according to Renton police. Medics reported one person with apparent life-threatening injuries, two people with serious injuries and two with minor injuries. Firefighters didn't provide information on the severity of injuries for the sixth person.
It was not immediately known if any of the injured were aboard the Metro bus.
The dump truck was traveling south on 140th Avenue Southeast toward the highway, and hit two vehicles before it hit the bus, which then hit other vehicles, according to Renton police.
Firefighter crews began to leave around 7 p.m., according to Renton firefighters.
