Product of the Day: Petzl ASAP LOCK

The ASAP LOCK is Petzl’s mobile fall arrester, and it sets the standard for backup belay and fall arrest solutions in the fire, rescue, and rope access industries. The device works by moving freely along a rope without manual adjustment, and in the case of a shock or sudden acceleration the device will lock and arrest the fall. As a backup belay device, the ASAP LOCK is installed on an independent backup line and anchor, with the chosen descent device remaining on the main line. In case of overspeeding or a main line failure, the ASAP LOCK will automatically lock on the backup rope, and with the help of a shock absorber, the resulting anchor impact forces remain low.
