The crash occured Thursday morning in southern Lincoln County.
When firefighters from Lincoln County Fire Protection District #1 arrived, they found the man about 70 feet up in the tree, according to KSDK.com.
A helicopter brought rescuers from the Missouri National Guard to the scene to haul the pilot up from the tree, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, but crews decided the safest means to remove him was to lower him.
