The high-angle rescue Friday by Charlotte crews at a building under construction is the second time in nearly a week they've been called to safely get an injured worker to the ground.

North Carolina firefighters rescued a worker who was injured on the 25th floor of a building under construction Friday.

The high-angle rescue was the second time in nearly a week Charlotte firefighters were called to a construction site to get an injured individual safely to the ground. On July 23, a crane was needed to reach a construction worker who was injured on a platform high off the ground at the site. 

Crews responded to a call concerning an injured worker at about 10 a.m. at a building under construction in uptown Charlotte, WSOC-TV reports. The worker was stuck on the 25th floor, and firefighters needed to be hoisted up the side of the building to reach the individual.

The injured worker was secured to a stretcher and safely lowered to the ground. It took 16 firefighters around 20 minutes to rescue the individual, who was taken to the hospital for evaluation, according to an online update by the fire department.

No details were released concerning the construction worker's injuries, including their severity and how they were sustained. No firefighters were injured in the incident.
