Denver firefighters were called to free a woman from an airplane bathroom after she became trapped inside while the craft was in the air Wednesday night.

United Airlines Flight 1554 was on its way to San Francisco from Washington, D.C., when the passenger became stuck inside the bathroom after the door became inoperative, KPIX-TV reports. The plane was diverted to Denver, and the fire department was called at about 7 p.m.

Once on the ground, five Denver firefighters boarded the plane. They, along with a mechanic, were able to free the woman, who was uninjured in the incident, according to KPIX.

"We are reaching out to all customers onboard and the customer in the lavatory to apologize,” United Airlines said in a statement.
