Three Florida firefighters were injured during rescue efforts after a sidewalk collapsed and killed one person Friday.

Seminole County Fire Department crews responded to the incident in the Lake Mary area at about 11 a.m., WKMG-TV reports. The collapse happened while work was being done on the sidewalk, and firefighters were told a worker had been trapped, according to WESH-TV.

When firefighters conducted the confined space rescue, exposed wires in the hole electrocuted them, WESH said. Three firefighters were taken to the hospital as a precaution, and they're expected to recover.

It was unclear why the sidewalk collapsed. No details were released on how the worker had become trapped or how that individual died.
