Man Rescued from Shaft by Los Angeles Firefighters

The victim, who fell 40 feet into the confined space, was rescued by Los Angeles firefighters after four hours.

A man who fell nearly 40 feet into a confined space in downtown Los Angeles on Tuesday was rescued by firefighters.

The man, 39, who was trapped in a shaft, was alert while technical rescue crews worked for hours to free him, KCAL reported.

He was transported to a hosptial in serious condition, firefighters said.
