FL Firefighters Rescue Two Trapped on Legoland Ride

Sept. 24, 2019
No one was injured when the Beetle Bounce ride at the Winter Haven amusement park malfunctioned and became stuck 25 feet up in the air.

Firefighters were called out to Legoland Florida Resort to help get two women off a drop ride that became stuck at the top, Polk County Fire Rescue said Monday.

The Beetle Bounce ride malfunction happened Friday. No one was injured; the ride only goes up about 25 feet.

The ride was back in operation by Saturday, Legoland spokeswoman Chloe Boehm told the Lakeland Ledger.

The Winter Haven Fire Department and Polk County Fire Rescue worked together to help the guests, who were strapped tightly in their seats as their legs dangled in the air.

The Winter Haven attraction opened in 2011.
