NM, TX Crews Rescue Teens on Stalled Roller Coaster

Sunland Park and West Valley firefighters used an aerial to rescue a group of teens after a roller coaster got stuck Saturday night at an amusement park.

Firefighters used a ladder truck to rescue a group of teenagers after El Bandido roller coaster ride got stuck Saturday night at Western Playland Amusement Park.

Two cars on the roller coaster were stuck on the top of the ride with eight teenagers still in their seats, the West Valley Fire Department stated.

West Valley firefighters were dispatched shortly after 8:30 p.m. to assist the Sunland Park Fire Department in the rescue at the amusement park in Sunland Park, New Mexico.

One by one each of the riders were helped down the ladder of a fire truck placed next to the roller coaster, the West Valley Fire Department stated on its Facebook page.

There were no injuries reported.
