Sep. 15—The Alameda County Fire Department rescued eight people from a jammed elevator in Emeryville on Saturday — including a groom and his groomsmen, who were late for the wedding.
Crew members with the fire department's Engine 35 helped rescue the elevator's passengers, including the groom and his best man, who — despite the late hour — had time to pose for a picture with the firefighters.
The fire department tweeted about the incident on Tuesday, saying the crew helped get the pair to the church, but provided few additional details.
"Congratulations to the happy couple!" the Fire Department tweeted.
