Workers Rescued from Trench in Bethesda, MD

Montgomery County firefighters and technical rescue crews worked for more than two hours to free the workers.

Two construction workers were extricated from a trench at a house in Bethesda Tuesday afternoon.

One worker was buried up to the waist while the other had dirt over his head, Pete Piringer, Montgomery County Fire Rescue spokesman said.

Technical rescue technicians worked for about two hours to free the men, who were flown to R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center for treatment, WJLA reported.

The incident is under investigation.
