Los Angeles firefighters rescued two seriously injured people from a car after a 200-toot fall down a hillside in Tujunga on Tuesday.
More than a dozen firefighters responded to the accident shortly after 6 p.m., KTLA-TV reports. The car had ended up on its side, and the rear of the vehicle was crushed.
Firefighters extricated a 60-year-old woman from the car first, according to the department. They then used a two-line rope system to pull her up the hillside, and she was airlifted to the hospital.
Crews needed to remove the car's roof to rescue the man, also 60. He was pulled up the hillside and taken to the hospital in critical condition, the department added.
Details concerning how the car crashed down the hillside were not released.
