California firefighters rescued a man who was trapped in his SUV after he struck a forklift on the interstate early Wednesday.

The accident happened just before 3:30 a.m. along Interstate 5, near Burbank Boulevard, OnSceneTV reports. A black SUV had crashed into a large forklift at a construction site along the roadway.

Burbank firefighters responded to the scene and were able to extricate the man from his vehicle. He was then taken to the hospital, but his condition was not known.

Investigators are looking into the cause of the accident, OnSceneTV added.
