Clackamas firefighters pulled an elderly woman who was found lying on a frozen pond Friday.

Several bystanders attempted to rescue the woman, who was about 20 feet from the edge around 10 p.m., according to a release from the Clackamas Fire District 1.

She was lying on her back on the four-feet deep man-made pond at Highland and SE Sumner Lane.

Crews placed a 24-foot ladder on the pond and a firefighter quickly scaled the ladder to the woman.

He quickly pulled the woman to safety and she was evaluated at the scene, but not injured.
