Deadly Floods Hit West Virginia, San Antonio

As of Monday, five had perished and others were missing in West Virginia while 13 died in floods in San Antonio.

At least five people are dead and others are missing following flash flooding in northern West Virginia.

A three-year-old was among those killed when 2.5 to 4 inches of rain fell in about a half hour in the Wheeling and Ohio County area,  WTRF reported.

There was a partial collapse of an apartment building near the Fairmont State University campus. Marion County officials told WBOY that no one who was living in the building was transported. 

Gov. Patrick Morrisey declared a state of emergency in several counties as the water levels continued to rise as fire and rescue personnel pulled motorists out of flooded vehicles. Residents also were found on the roofs of houses. 

San Antonio

The San Antonio Fire Department confirmed on Saturday at 11:45 a.m. that the death toll has risen to 13 people. All people who have been reported missing have been recovered.

11 people were located in the Perrin Beitel area, one person was found several miles upstream from the Perrin Beitel area, and one person was found near Highway 90 near Leon Creek.
