St. Paul firefighters quickly contained a dwelling on Feb. 10.

Engine 5 found heavy smoke from the two-story home in the 200 block of Grotto Avenue South around 6 p.m. and deployed a hoseline for fire attack.

The crew from Engine 18 stretched a backup line while Ladder 18 and Squad 3 conducted searches.

Firefighters made a quick knock on the fire, which originated in the rear of the home and had some extension to the attic.

Three engines, one ladder, one squad and one district chief responded.
