Mo. Firefighter Rescued After Falling Through Floor

Cape Girardeau firefighters had to rescue one of their own after he fell through a floor at a Monday night house fire.

Crews rescued one victim from the house fire on Country Club Drive that was reported around 8:30 p.m. That person was rushed to the hospital.

"We had one firefighter fall through the floor (into the basement)," Battalion Chief Fred Vincel told the Southeast Missourian. 

The firefighter, who fell through a burned out hole, was not injured, the chief said.

Another firefighter was injured by falling debris and taken to the hospital for evaluation.
