Consultants Issue Tips to Help Firefighters Avoid Cancer Risks

The Firefighter Cancer Consultants, LLC was established in late 2014 by firefighters with expertise in helping firefighters minimize cancer risks.

Since they organized, the consultants have assisted fire departments across the country by establishing or enhancing firefighter cancer awareness, prevention and support programs.

By visiting fire departments and evaluating departments’ policies and procedures the consultants compose individualized plans to help reduce firefighters’ risks of being diagnosed with occupational cancer.

As part of the consultants' mission, they have issued a “flyer” with 25 points to help keep firefighters avoid cancer exposures.
