Chicago Firefighter Injured in South Side Blaze

-- Dec. 02--A firefighter was injured this morning at a fire on the South Side in the city's Canaryville neighborhood, officials said. Firefighters were called to the 2-story frame building at 734 W. 47th Place about 9:30 a.m. Three lines were used to extinguish the fire, said fire media spokesman Rich Rosado. One firefighter was injured in the blaze and was taken in good condition to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Rosado said.

There was no information immediately available about how that firefighter was injured, Rosado said.

The fire was struck out shortly before 10 a.m., Rosado said.
