Oct. 31--
A Toledo firefighter was injured while helping battle a vacant house fire early Monday morning in South Toledo, authorities said.
The firefighter, whose name was not released, was taken to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center with minor injuries, according to the Toledo fire department.
The fire at 518 Crittenden Ave. broke out about 5:28 a.m. It took fire crews about an hour to bring the blaze under control.
The crews' efforts were hindered by holes in the floors of the two-story wood frame house, firefighters said. The injured firefighter had fallen through the floor.
Investigators have ruled the fire an arson. The damage estimate was unavailable.
The fire also damaged the adjacent building at 522 Crittenden Ave.
The Lucas County Auditor's Web site lists Sofia Quintero Art and Cultural Center as the owner of the house. It was built in 1907.
