South Bend firefighters were caught in a flashover Wednesday morning.

South Bend firefighters were caught in a flashover Wednesday morning and it was all captured by a local television station.

Video from WNDU-TV shows thick black smoke pouring out of a second-story window of the home on 128 East Donald Street when the room suddenly erupts into bright orange flames.

One firefighter is seen coming face-to-face with the flames while others are seen climbing down the roof and exiting from the front door on the first floor.

While the firefighters were uninjured in the incident, the occupants of the home were not as lucky.

Three people were inside the home when the fire broke out, but only two made it out in time.

Firefighters found a 17-year-old Danielle Baker unconscious on the second floor and sustained serious burns.

A three-year-old Irish setter named "Nappy" was killed in the fire.

Baker was transported to a local hospital and was later transferred to a Fort Wayne burn center with second degree burns to her shoulders and back.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
