Sept. 07--One firefighter suffered what was described as a minor injury after the Fort Wayne Fire Department responded a fire in a strip-mall building at Southgate Plaza at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday.
Firefighters said they contained the fire to RC Women and Men's Apparel storefront. However, smoke and water damage extended to the business on both sides of the clothing store.
No one was in the structure at the time of the fire. Firefighters brought it under control by 10:30 a.m.

The Fort Wayne Fire Department was assisted at the scene by the Fort Wayne Police Department, Three Rivers Ambulance Authority, Indiana Michigan Power Co., NIPSCO and Neighborhood Code Enforcement.
The injured firefighter was taken from the scene for treatment and observation, according to the fire department.
