Sept. 06--A firefighter was injured while battling a house fire in the South Shore neighborhood, officials said.
The fire was reported at a vacant 2-1/2 story frame home on the 8000 block of South South Shore Drive around noon, according to Chicago Fire Department spokesman Will Knight.
The fire, which broke out on the second floor, was under control by 12:39 p.m., Knight said.
