Firefighter, 2 Others Hospitalized After Wis. Fire

MILWAUKEE -- Five children and three adults escaped from a 2-alarm fire in Milwaukee early Friday morning. Crews were called to the home near 38th and Cherry streets around 2 a.m. Firefighters said everyone had exited the home before they arrived on the scene. Two adults had jumped from a second story window to escape the fire. They were taken to the hospital with undisclosed injuries. One firefighter was also transported from the scene with chest pains.

Five children and three adults escaped from a 2-alarm fire in Milwaukee early Friday morning.

Crews were called to the home near 38th and Cherry streets around 2 a.m.

Firefighters said everyone had exited the home before they arrived on the scene.

Two adults had jumped from a second story window to escape the fire. They were taken to the hospital with undisclosed injuries. One firefighter was also transported from the scene with chest pains.

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
