Baltimore Firefighters Injured in Apartment Blaze

BALTIMORE -- Two Baltimore firefighters were injured while coming to the rescue of several people trapped inside a burning apartment building in the northwest part of the city. The fire was reported shortly before 1:30 a.m. Wednesday on the third floor of a four-story apartment in the 2800 block of Reisterstown Road. Officials told 11 News that one firefighter was treated for non-life-threatening injuries at Mercy Medical Center, while the other was taken to Bayview Burn Center for treatment of minor burns.

The fire was reported shortly before 1:30 a.m. Wednesday on the third floor of a four-story apartment in the 2800 block of Reisterstown Road.

One resident had to be taken to Shock Trauma. That person's condition is still unknown.

There's no word yet on what caused the fire.
