N.C. Firefighter, Officers Injured in Meth Lab Fire

BREVARD, N.C. -- Emergency crews were on the scene of a possible methamphetamine lab fire in Transylvania County on Saturday. It happened on Mountain Glen Road in Brevard at about 5 p.m. When police, who were there on a disturbance call, confronted the three people inside the home, someone sprayed the officers in the face with an unknown substance, deputies said. The residents then set the apartment on fire, police said.

Emergency crews were on the scene of a possible methamphetamine lab fire in Transylvania County on Saturday.

It happened on Mountain Glen Road in Brevard at about 5 p.m.

When police, who were there on a disturbance call, confronted the three people inside the home, someone sprayed the officers in the face with an unknown substance, deputies said.

The residents then set the apartment on fire, police said.

Firefighters were able to put out the fire quickly, but one firefighter and three officers were injured.

Three people were in custody Saturday night with charges pending, police said.
