A Sierra volunteer firefighter who was injured after his fire truck rolled over Thursday afternoon was cited in the incident, according to KOB-TV.

Firefighter Adam Chrisman, 27, was issued a citation for careless driving in the crash that occurred around 3 p.m. as he responded to a grass fire in Roswell.

He was turning a corner near Brown and Second Street when the truck flipped.

Chrisman sustained a head injury and was transported to a local hospital.

Officials told the news station that the truck is valued at approximately $300,000 and is a total loss.

New Mexico State Police is investigating the crash.
